Last year when I came home from Indonesia I had a big hole in my heart, left there by a bunch of amazing kids. So when they approached me about teaching 2nd grade Sunday School each week, I didn't have to think about my decision very long.

It's been a good year, a good run. I could have definitely prepped more and tried to be more creative, but in the end I think what I learned was that is was more about spending time with the kids than anything else. I've NOT loved the prep time had to be done on Saturdays (or whenever I could fit it in), but I did love being in the classroom with them. 

Earlier in the summer I knew God was telling me not to go back and teach next year. This was just a one-year commitment and God would show me what He wanted me to do with my Sundays. I believe He showed it to me when he brought me a man who lives an hour and a half away and the weekends are the only time I can see him. I'll be glad to have my Sundays back so that Josh and I don't have to be here each week - or I don't have to make sure there's a sub taking my place. But I'll also miss those kids.
